Teaching art isn't always easy, but we can usually have a lot of fun once the students settle down and get to doing art. Today was our first day back after spring break, plus a week off for state testing, and a week where the 6th grade class was away at outdoor education, so we have had three weeks away from art class. It was fun to finally get back to it. We were looking at "lines" today and doing a quick project using lines, making radial designs and coloring them in with colored pencils. As I was getting ready for the students to come in, I thought this looked like a cool picture, and I guess it turned out ok.
We had done a project before our long break, where the students were put into pairs and drew each other. Their pictures turned out really cute, so we took pictures today. The pairs in the pictures are each holding the picture they drew of the other person in the picture... does that make sense?!?!
The other groups all had one person missing today, so I will take their pictures tomorrow! : )
