Tonight Marilyn and I got to celebrate our birthdays together! We went to our favorite nacho place, Mijares in Pasadena. It was so good and it had been way too long since we had been there. Sadly, the waiter took our picture and it came out kind of blurry...
After finishing our wonderful dinner we tried to decide on what kind of dessert we wanted for our birthday celebration. We thought that we really wanted some of the yummy desserts from Alcove, but Alcove isn't anywhere near Mijares...
...we decided to live life on the edge, we didn't care how far away it was, we were going to Alcove! Once we got there, with just one minor set back; a wrong turn which led us on a beautiful night drive through Griffith Park, we ordered three desserts (My favorite: the black and white mousse cake, carrot cake, and a chocolate bundt cake). They were all sooooo good!
We were happy and full. Fun night with a fun friend and some delicious food, it can't get any better than that!
My week of celebration is close to an end...I'm not sure if I can go back to eating desserts just once a week!
This is my family group! I love them and I have lots of fun with them. We seem to be the party group because we never get done on time, and we always end up staying late to talk and laugh and be together. Tonight we celebrated my birthday...the party's continue! Thanks Janice and Judson for hosting our group tonight, for making some delicious dinner and the "Death by Chocolate Cake" for dessert. Soooooo good!
For some reason these past few weeks I have been soooooo tired! I just really want to come home and take a nap after school is over, but the days and evenings are super busy and I'm not able to. This is just a picture of the dream I have of getting some extra sleep! (It's actually a self-portrait, I'm just pretending to get some extra sleep) : )
I wasn't kidding when I said I was taking a week off for my birthday!! : ) Tonight I went to Toddy G's for the best pizza in LA. So super good! I got a slice of white pizza, and a slice of veggie; Tracy got a slice of veggie and a slice of margarita. It was all delicious, and we went home completely full!
There were so many great things that happened today! It was so great to celebrate my birthday at school, with all of the kids and all of my great friends who I work with! I was so pleased to spend the evening with some great friends, dinner at my place, dessert at Alcove (wow!!) and lots of laughter!

OK, so what is the Super Bowl really about... Football? I don't think so! Food at the Super Bowl party is the real reason for the day! : ) This is a picture of our amazing spread at the Cummings party. Sadly, you can't see all the deliciousness that was there! Hummace, salsas and guacamole and chips, cakes, brownies, spinach artichoke dip, and of course the healthy stuff: carrots, grapes, peppers... wow!
Of course we did actually watch the game (and the commercials and the half time show, which are what I really watch for). But we all took lots of breaks to go get some food.
Dante wasn't really interested in the game because he was talking on the phone to his friends all night, we couldn't get him off the phone!
Today my family came to LA to celebrate my Birthday! It was a great day, eating carne asada tacos, visiting the Sonshine Shop and spending time with my mom, dad, sister, niece and nephew. One of the things I love about my birthday is that I can get my family to come visit me in LA (they don't really love coming down here). After lunch we also headed out to Yogurtland (not to be confussed with Disneyland), where I went for the chocolate-only topping option, one of the best birthday desserts you can have!
